Why is the [spotbeam/Inmarsat] traffic light yellow on my Seatex DPS (Windows XP)?

A DPS unit based on Windows XP will show a yellow traffic light on Spotbeam/Inmarsat link in the following situations:

The shore based reference station is out of range or the range to the nearest shore based reference station is more than the set limit on the DPS unit (default: 2000km)

Hint: Normally a problem on vessels operation on each side of the Atlantic Ocean. This is because some places will give stronger signal strength on the 'wrong' correction satellite. Inmarsat terminals can swap automatically over to the strongest. Some operators may also change to satellite giving higher signal strength to get more stable link.

Note: This is only valid for DPS units with display based on windows XP operation system.
